Latest Updates from Our Project:

2020 Update
over 4 years ago – Thu, Jan 16, 2020 at 01:50:30 AM

Thanks to everyone for your patience with the January update, we wanted to ensure that we had progress made on several fronts in order to provide a substantive progress report, and such progress has been made! We'll touch on the following items in this update:

  • First-Look at the Formatted Epic Legacy Campaign Codex
  •  Epic Legacy Campaign Codex Project Update
  • Shipping Update - Non-ELCC Books
  • Non-Book Merchandise Updates

First-Look @ Epic Legacy Campaign Codex - Formatted

We've received the first-drafts of the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex formatted and are extremely pleased with the results thus far! The themes from the Epic Legacy Core Rulebook are maintained with an academic, classy presentation, as opposed to the punchy, visceral feel of the Total Party Kill line. Check out a few of the spreads from the project below (though note, art in some cases may be WIP).

Epic Legacy Campaign Codex Schedule

All that above to say that we're on schedule (and a little bit ahead of schedule) for the release of the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex PDF in February. At this point, we're expecting it on the early side of the month, but we'll definitely keep you appraised! Our shipping process (see below), looks like it takes a little longer than we originally anticipated - even after we work out the kinks - so we're on schedule for a late-April delivery of the print versions of the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex.

Additionally, though it's been a while, we have the Alternate Cover for the Deluxe Print of Epic Legacy Campaign Codex finished up. It depicts two characters of Epic might - the founders of the city of Nexus - constructing the multidimensional landscape.

An Epic Elementalist & Artificer

Let's Talk Shipping

You've all been very patient with us regarding the new shipping process, and we very much appreciate it. We've put together a new web store (store.2cgaming.com), and our Backerkit fulfillment process will involve routing orders through that store (hosted with Shopify), to our fulfillment center (Amplifier), who will then ship and deliver the books.

All this to say that it's complicated, but automated. We've run a couple of tests internally, and have now move 30 of you with books other than ELCC prints into the queue. If these all go well, we'll move the remaining 300 who have not yet received their Non-ELCC books into this queue on Friday, which puts these books with an expected delivery by the end of January.

You should not be charged again for printing or shipping, but our web store may indicate that you've placed and order and it has been charged. This refers to the order placed through Backerkit and the charge placed at that time (or through Kickstarter, if your card was processed there). If you are charged for an additional print, let us know. We'll work to reimburse the errant change and refine the process to avoid this in the future.

Non-Book Merchandise Updates

As before, these will be shipped from our location in California, rather than through Amplifier. We are still coordinating with our suppliers for these materials and refining the products before shipping them out. As merchandise is something newer to us, we want to ensure that we can produce product of quality - if we can't get production on these items to our standards, we'll apologize and refund your order as quickly as possible. It seems our mantra these days is "Sacrificing Punctuality, not Quality."

As always, thanks for the continued support; we're excited to bring you the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex in short order here!

Best,

Epic Legacy Campaign Codex First Draft Is Complete!

Phew! Well folks the first draft of the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex is in. This BEAST of a book is clockin' in at over 160k words and will have tons of awesome features to offer. If you are curious to see whats inside join lead writer Ryan over on the 2CGaming stream at 11 AM PST on December 1st as he goes through the entire book in its current form and discusses features.

Click me to come say hi at 11 AM PST December 1st!

If you can't make it, don't worry, here is a list in summary of what we will be talking about.

  • Epic Artificer (Archanic) and Epic Elementalist (Avatar) plans and revisions
  • Legendary Prestige Classes (New and exciting addition!)
  • New Epic Mechanics for Players and DMs
  • Nexus District Overview
  • Local Mythic Monsters (The big bads of Epic Legacy)
  • And everything in between!

Print & Fulfillment Update for Previous Publications

We have resolved issues with the print copies of the Total Party Kill lines (oversaturation issues with some of the previous prints which plagued us from previous projects), and have shipped all the ordered books to the fulfillment center. We've received confirmation that they've arrived and are being processed.

This means we haven't been able to hit our pushed back delivery schedule of November for the already published books, but we are well-positioned to get these shipped off in the first half of this month. Starting December 1, those international orders for our previously-published books will be receiving notification of printing and shipping, and we expect to have all previously published books shipped no later than December 15 to arrive right around the Christmas Holiday. We will post a comment when the international orders are shipped and those within the US are shipped.

Summary

We are on schedule for the production of the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex and remain expectant in our original estimation of February 2020 for the PDF. December will be heavy art development and formatting, and we expect to share much of this with you in our beginning-of-2020 update!

'til then...

Three Updates: Two Good, One Sad
over 4 years ago – Fri, Nov 01, 2019 at 03:14:46 AM

Hello hello, let's get the ball rolling on this late October update. Happy Halloween to those of you partaking!

The Good #1: Campaign Codex Development Continues on Schedule

Writing is pretty much done. We're well into the copy editing for the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex, and the artwork for the project is coming along as well. This includes writing from the WebDM team as well as Grant Ellis, both of who have been hard at work over the last few weeks to put their Epic ideas to paper.

After a long wait (our apologies, there was some unusual travel last month all around) - we finally have first-look images for the Deluxe Alternate Cover. The sketch below is the first we've settled on, and we'll be improving and refining from here, making useful changes like adding color!

Heletek + Kaya - The Founders of Nexus

The Good #2: Custom Dice Bags from Nerdic!

We've reached out to an EU-based company, Nerdic, for a refresh and overhaul of our custom Epic Dungeon Master and Epic Player dice bags. We're very excited for this collaboration, as these guys have been making *amazing* products for a long time. If you *are* interested in something completely custom, we absolutely encourage you to check them out! If you're interested in something personalized, rather than an Epic bag, You can start the process of making a fully-customized one here!

The Sad: A New Fulfillment Process = A Slow Start

There's no two ways about it, our printing and shipping process has definitely lagged compared to book content quality. We've always felt very confident about our ability to produce amazing writing and collaborate with truly inspiring artists, but the fulfillment has been ... difficult for us to say the least.

We're revamping it!

But ... it's taking a little longer than we expected. With some print saturation issues from our Total Party Kill line, and our printer's comparative size, we're running into delays getting these books out.

However, here's the updated schedule:

  • End of November: Epic Legacy Core Rulebooks, Tyrants & Hellions, Fate of the Forebears should be shipped. You should have order numbers and the ability to lookup tracking information at your leisure!
  • End of December: Alongside the merchandise, we hope to have the books from the Total Party Kill lines in the same state: printed, and shipped, if not arrived already.

This new process does three things *much* better than our old one:

1. Provides tracking information lookups for everyone in the US.

2. Ships orders with fewer mistakes (such as incorrect books!), with better packaging in a more-expedient way.

3. Doesn't tie up the 2CGaming team with fulfillment (usually a week+ long project just to package and ship books from our HQ).

But we do apologize for the delay. We'll get these to you as soon as we can!

Best,

The 2CGaming Team

Playtest Packet, Art & Shipping Update
over 4 years ago – Mon, Oct 07, 2019 at 06:30:48 PM

Hello hello. It's a beautiful October, and we're mostly done with the Epic Legacy Campaign  Codex. Oh yes.

Three updates here, presented in no particular order:

1. The Playtest Packet

Here it is - the majority of the mechanics associated with the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex clocking in at a WHOPPING 150 pages. While any feedback we get between now and January will be incorporated into the final book, the ideal timing for our production schedule is between now and mid-November, so anything you can get reviewed and back to us by then will cement your place as a *playtester* in the credits of the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex. Please be rough and fast with your mechanical and thematic reviews, but gentle when it comes to copy editing and grammar, as we're letting our editors loose on the written documents starting October 14th!

You can download the playtest packet here

 2. Art Updates

Our fantastic artists Ambrose & Damon have been cranking away on the art-side of the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex, though we only started them recently on things. You can check out a few in-progress pieces below: the Towers of Thul district piece and the Last Guardian set piece from the Emerald Wilds district.

3.  Non-ELCC Shipping

After Ryan literally broke his back (okay, *strained* his back) shipping books from some of our previous projects, we've elected to work with a fulfillment manager for shipping within the US - Amplifier. This means a couple of things for you US-backers who ordered prints other than the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex:

1. Tracking Numbers! Something we should have done a long time ago. Our fulfillment platform of choice, Amplifier, offers tracking information associated with shipments. Thank goodness.

2.  A more-efficient shipping process. The books will go from the printer to the fulfillment center, meeting our packing list there. From there, they'll be packaged and shipped directly to you.

3. No additional cost. If we do incur additional cost from this new process, we'll eat it, rather than pass it along. We've been meaning to get this new process going for some time, and we thank you for paying for your shipping in advance!

The one caveat here is that we're not quite sure how long this process will take (As this is the first time we've done it!) International orders will remain the same as they've been, and we hope that our process with Amplifier will expedite the shipping process, but we can't be sure. We'll keep you posted as we find out, and still hope to have all non-Epic Legacy Campaign Codex print books shipped by the end of October, 2019.

 That's All For Now

We're on schedule. Thanks for the continued support! Please let us know if there are any questions, comments, or concerns in the comments, via Kickstarter message, or our preferred method: the 2CGaming Discord Channel!

Pledge Management & Plans
over 4 years ago – Fri, Sep 06, 2019 at 10:29:44 PM

Backerkit Is Live

After a little setup, our pledge manager and digital distribution platform, Backerkit, is live! The platform will provide surveys, file downloads, ingest shipping information, and provide another means of customer support should there be any issues.

We'll also be taking pre-orders through Backerkit, available here: https://elcc.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

Schedule & Shipping

The schedule for development of the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex and delivery of various books and merchandise follows:

  • Late October: All previously-published products have been shipped (including the Epic Legacy Core Rulebook)

We'll be trying to stick to this as tightly as we can, informing you with updates and comments if there are any changes to the plan here.

Deluxe Epic Legacy - Cover Options

Each Epic Legacy book - the Core Rulebook and the Campaign Codex - have a standard and an alternate cover available for their deluxe copies. You'll make your selection of which cover you'd like for each of these through Backerkit.

However, as the Epic Legacy Campaign Codex alternate cover was our final stretch goal, it's not yet finished! We're working with our cover artist Daniel to get this developed and will have an update when it's available. You don't have to submit your surveys until we close Backerkit in March, but if you want to pick this up sight-unseen, that's great. Either way, we do guarantee it'll be truly epic.

Take a look at the available cover options below:

That's about all for now, folks! Thanks for the continued support of the Epic Legacy project. We'll be back with updates later in September, but if there are any questions in the meantime, feel free to hit us up via comments or on discord: https://discord.gg/2k35fY9

Best,
